FRIENDS OF MACC NASHVILLE

Welcome to Friends of Metro Animal Care & Control Nashville (Friends). We are the non-profit organization supporting Metro Animal Care & Control (MACC) and with that support we are helping improve the lives of animals at the city owned and operated animal shelter located at 5125 Harding Place in Nashville, Tennessee.

Metro Animal Care and Control grew out of what used to be known as the “pound”. As the government run shelter, MACC accepts ALL animals – the lost, the sick, the injured, the abused and neglected, the unwanted and unloved. This includes horses, cows, goats, rabbits, birds, snakes, ferrets, possums and skunks and, of course, cats and dogs.

The wonderful staff at MACC, along with help from volunteers, does everything in their power to get as many animals adopted to new homes as possible. All animals put up for adoption are vaccinated and temperament tested.

The facility itself is a bright, clean, modern place and all animals housed there have excellent care. They are walked as much as possible, played with and loved. There is even an on-staff veterinarian.
