ABOUT US

Our Mission

We were founded to raise the awareness of Metro Aminal Care & Control (MACC), provide extra care for the animals at the shelter beyond the city's resources and help more animals find homes. We exist to assist, support and strengthen MACC and their programs, including the Heels and Paws programs in partnership with the Sheriff's Department.

We exist to provide active participation in special events to further theses purposes. Our goal is to develop, sponsor and promote educational programs to increase public awareness about the MACC Adoption Program and encourage respect, appreciation and responsibility towards animals.

At the shelter

We work with shelter management and staff to figure out how we can best help the animals in their care. Many Friends members volunteer at the shelter and learn first-hand what is needed through their ongoing work. Their involvement helps us direct our funds wisely.
