Friends is a small group but we would love to grow and you can help.

What we do

We help support shelter programs that directly benefit the animals, such as promoting adoption events, providing care for special needs animals, procuring needed medical equipment, helping staff access special training, and allocating grants to assist courts and police in prosecuting animal abusers and more.

How to get involved

Two primary areas of our work that can use volunteers are the efforts in staffing special events and hand on volunteers with the animals and adoption process.

We need people that can volunteer at individual events. Helping setup, staff the event and take down after the event is perfect for volunteers that can commit to short terms projects.

If you can commit to the ongoing responsibility of helping good people adopt good animals, the adoption program at MACC depends on the help of volunteers. The volunteers are responsible for walking dogs, playing with and socializing the dogs and cats, and showing the animals to potential adopters. Volunteers are always needed and should be ready to spend some time at MACC.
